Gérard Jones is an Elite Coach Educator for Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football with over 14 years experience in professional and grassroots football around the world.
In 2009, Gérard established GSF delivering specialist football coaching in schools and communities throughout Yorkshire, growing the company into become recognised among the Top 100 Best Business Start-ups in the UK in 2010, later winning a host of individual awards for entrepreneurialism & football coaching. GSF evolved in running Development Centers, to private One-to-One training and laterly private Coach Education. Gérard currently works in professional football and mentors coaches in elite game.
Since completing his Master's thesis in 2013 where he studied the use of communication to develop decision making in elite youth academy players at EPPP Cat 3 level, Gérard has continued his research into practice designs, play-centred learning and coach development, publishing various articles and speaking at Conferences around the world to presenting on Podcasts and Webinars for national federations and private organisations. Gérard later expanded his research into communication through his PGCE working with academy and student-athletes and is now undergoing PhD focusing on the use of Instructional Constraints within Ecological Psychology and Dynamical Systems Theory (non-linear pedagogy grounded in Constraints-Led Approach) - how instruction can be used to Guide the Attentional Search of a Player
